WINDHOEK, 28 JUN (NAMPA) - Supporters of the new sport genre called 'Drifting' did not go home disappointed after they were entertained with world-class drifting at the Tony Rust Race Track, west of Windhoek, this past weekend. Drifting is a driving sport where skill counts more than speed. The drifter has to keep the car drifting without losing control, while at the same time staying on the track. They do so while going around corners - gliding in a position that the car faces the inner circle of a corner. ?The sport originated around 20 years ago in Japan and evolved in one of the fastest growing motorsports in the world,? said Jim McFarlane, one of the organisers and event announcer from South Africa.
